The last part of the Goodwood Festival.
Racers and their families, as well as certain authorized people had special access to the Dunhill Driver's Club which was an area gated off with a building that featured an eating area that served breakfast, lunch, and dinner - plus Afternoon tea.
Just as one might expect to see in the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately, I was unable to make the tea-time because our event was happening during that time frame each day. However, breakfast and lunch was really delicious.

Once your were registered at Goodwood you received food tickets and this medal.
Without this medal, and the food tickets, you were not able to access certain areas, specifically the Dunhill Driver's Club. It's as if life depended on the medal and so the medal became very important during the event.

Inside the dining hall, there sat Sir Stirling Moss right before me. It was quite an experience.

The 2nd night, Saturday evening, was dinner inside Lord March's house.

"Black-tie" as the written invitation specified, I had brought my tuxedo for the trip over.
This night all the Drag Racers were formally dressed for dinner too.

Hard to see but that's Lord March.
| The morning of the final day, I came across this carefully secured and displayed vehicle in the pavilion. It is what's called a Morgan LIFEcar and it's equipped with MOON Discs.

At mid-day there was an air show performed by the Royal Air Force.
That's right almost forgot, on Saturday the huge Airbus A380 with its massive fuselage made several passes in the skies above.

The event finished at 6PM, which was followed by the awards ceremony.

At 7PM we got a message that requested us to go to Lord March's main house, and instructed us to go inside. So we did.
Sitting down over there,
it's Sir Sterling Moss!
Inside, we waited for about 10 minutes.

The awards ceremony had started.

Lord March himself made a speech and conducted the ceremony calling each of the recipients to come on the stage to receive a medal, a large bottle of champagne or some kind of award.
Many of the award winners are living legends in racing. After they were all called, Sir Stirling Moss made a speech.

After that, the members of the US Drag Team were acknowledge.
All the members didn't make it onto the stage although a couple members made speeches.
All of us received a medal.

Concluding the awards was a trial bike expert that performed a demonstration by climbing up the event Course Car (BMW) and closing the ceremony was a trick in which the rider performed hopping over Lord March as he lay on the ground.

With the day ending we made our way back to the hotel.
This entire festival was an amazing event and I'm grateful to have been part of it.
Again, if it wasn't for NHRA's Tony Thacker, this would not have been possible.
Thank you Tony! and NHRA!
