MOON NOOZ

The weather has been strange for few days and it finally got back to nice warm Southern California weather. The Hot Rod event season will start from now on. Last weekend the event "Viva Las Vegas" brought many out of towners to Santa Fe Springs. Especially many groups of visitors from Europe. The fun continues as this weekend is the Pomona Swap Meet, next weekend is NSRA Street Rod Nationals at Bakersfield and the weekend after that is Good Guys Nitro Nationals in Pomona again.

Now in this issue I like to introduce another member of our Machine Shop Staff. MOONEYES means Moon Disc and Moon Tank. They are status for all Hot Rodders since 50s, Salt Flat and El Mirage. Our Staff Mr.Manuel Florence makes Moon Disc and Moon Tank Body prior to welding. He is technician of Spinning and makes Moon Disc and Moon Tank body from a piece of aluminum board. He shapes Moon Disc from one piece of aluminum board by spinning and finishes up with hair line finish. Manuel also makes Moon Tank body. Tanks are usually made by joining the two Tank Bodies together.

The Tank Body edge has to match the edge of other side to be able to make an excellent quality Moon Tank. The high quality of the tank is a result from experience, careand his dedicated effort to his work. His position is vital for Mooneyes USA as it is keeping important property inherited from the 1950s.
